In her own words...

"I am Valerie Saint-Gaudens, great-granddaughter of America's foremost sculptor, Augustus Saint-Gaudens (1848-1907). From an early age, I felt destined to be an artist and studied drawing and sculpture in school. At nineteen, I took a class in beginning jewelry making, and knew it was my future. Combining my love of realistic sculpture with my passion for jewelry, I feel my designs are sculptures in miniature."

"In 1981, while marlin fishing off the coast of Cabo San Lucas, the legendary Captain Jack Bohannon challenged me to carve a marlin in gold. Ten years into jewelry making by then, and devoted to fishing, I carved that first marlin. Then came a swordfish, tuna, and the rest is history. I have created the world's first line of gold sportfishing jewelry and become known for my accurate realism and fine quality. "

"In the San Diego area where I live, I am also known as an award-winning designer of diamond and colored stone jewelry as well.
